Fashion Upgrades That Make You Look Expensive.

Honestly looking stylish, chic and expensive should not have to cost all of the dollars, there are so many ways you can do things on a budget and look chic and stylish without breaking the bank.

Welcome to - Live Bold And Bloom With Ishika.

Today I’m sharing all sorts of tips, tricks and guidelines on how to look expensive and chic on a budget. This blog is the culmination of all of those things and I’ll be talking about certain pieces that look expensive, how to look smarter, certain tips you should look for prints, patterns, styles, pieces that look expensive but you can buy then on a budget.

First we’re gonna talk about what pieces look expensive that you can start looking for when shopping colours, fabrics, prints, patterns and styles. So, when shopping things, you want to look for pieces that have a certain higher quality and more expensive look, some fabrics you can look into are silk, satin and tweed. They look very chic and expensive. Now, anything in the nude or neutral colour range are automatic expensive. Something about nudes and neutrals always just look so classy and higher quality and chic. It really draws an eye to maybe the design and the style without being distracted by the colours or prints. Now, one colour in particular that stands out from the nudes and neutral spectrum is camel. Camel is a great go-to and always looks so gorgeous. Something that I always love about camel colour is that you can always find it at a thrift store.

Don’t opt for trends when it comes to certain designs just because as time goes by and trends come in and out, if you have a piece that is very trend specific after the trend passes it’s going to look outdated taking away from that classy classic look. When it comes to the construction of design the overarching theme here is less is more. Prints are the easiest way to make an outfit tired. What you love one season will make you dated the next. Stick to solids—with a healthy dose of spots here and there.

Anything that fits well is going to look better than anything that’s too oversized. Of course you can go for a more intentional oversized look but when it comes to classy you really have to look into balance. If the oversize outfit looks good and well balanced, wear it girl !  When you’re looking for pieces that highlights your silhouette and define your figure, those pieces don’t have to be tight or taut on your body. They can just kind of hang in a flattering way, you can have a loose flowy or drapey kind of piece that still highlights your silhouette without being tight. Balance is a huge play in getting things to look like they fit and look right so, a really good rule of thumb is if you’re wearing looser on top then go tighter on the bottom. Getting your clothes tailored is also a great option, and can be affordable if done sparingly.  There is nothing like a perfect fit.

The easiest way to look inexpensive is to do too much.  It appears inexperienced and amateurish.  For example, you don’t want statement earrings, statement shoes, with a loud dress- it ends up looking over the top.

Accessorising is a game-changer for just looking for stylish, chic and expensive. Some accessory example could be earrings, jewellery, hand bands, scarves, watches. Certain types of bags such as structured bags always look expensive. Sunglasses, hair pins and then coming down to even more smaller details that you might not ever think about buttons. Having expensive looking buttons or just kind of nice looking buttons is another subtle easy way that really just truly steps up an outfit.

Monochromatic outfits always just have a very put-together chic kinda vibe. So, throwing on a monochromatic outfit could be a great go-to if you’re trying to look luxurious. You can even get crazy with a pop of color for your purse. For instance, if you wore all white and you had a neon green purse that would look really cool. It would make you look immensely stylish.

Another thing that adds to the case is matching details. So matching your bag to your purse, matching the hardware on your shoes to your belt, just having those little details is really just going to add to this whole vibe.

Try to choose pointed foot wears. Bright pumps look as pretty in the mass market as they do in luxury brands, while pointed black or nude ones will nicely finish any office image.

There may have been periods when wearing logos was hugely on trend (think the designer logo trend that was all the rage in spring/summer 2018), but the reality is that looking expensive is all about understated elegance. Now that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t buy any designer items you love that have logos on them, it just means that you might not want to wear them all at the same time! Just think to yourself, ‘does this outfit scream sophisticated elegance, or do I just look crass?’.

Last but not the least, having good hygiene and looking well-groomed is extremely essential. For example, having your hair well-kept and looking good, having your nails done and they don’t have to be painted, they just have to look nice. Think just a touch of concealer under the eye, a brush of mascara and a spot of colour on the cheeks. For that ultra glamourous look, why not try a classic red lip.

Most Common Etiquette Mistakes.

Etiquette isn’t something that just evaporated from society over time. Even though we do much of our communicating online, it’s still necessary to practice good manners when attending parties or having in-person chats. You don’t need to stare into the person’s eyes creepily—intermittent glances make for a more comfortable conversation
