2021 GOALS : SET AND ACHIEVE BIG.

As we enter the resolution setting season, It is important to plan a strategy so your chances of success become much higher especially when you look at the failure rate - 92% people are failing to reach their targets because they don’t set goals. Here are my 3 goal setting tips that will help you join the other eight percent of people who achieve their goals.

I can guarantee you one thing that just knowing the right thing to do or just hoping to achieve a change in yourself is not going to work if you don’t follow a few important steps.

Remember - Hope does not change anything. Action with a purpose does. So if you’re ready to achieve your image goals then let’s begin.

Welcome to - Live Bold And Bloom With Ishika.

#1 : Add purpose to your goals - The first and the most important is not just to have a goal but also to understand what is the purpose of your goal. For instance, setting a goal like, “I’ll dress well everyday.” Now that by itself is not going to work. You will notice that within a few days you’ll fall back into your laid-back dressing but now if you add a purpose behind that goal it will help you accomplish that much better. For instance, If you understand that you speak very confidently or you walk very confidently when you dress better at work then you would say that your purpose behind dressing better is to be taken seriously at work to gain more respect because you’ll see that your goal is meeting a purpose and that helps you to stay motivated. The same thing can apply to many aspects to your image goals from styling yourself to your fitness, to your weight loss goals, to your body language, your social media image everything. Remember, just hope will not change anything. It is not a strategy but put a purpose behind what you hope to achieve and be very clear what success looks like to you. If you don’t know what success looks like how will you know when you’ve actually achieved it. You can give up running when you run aimlessly but if you know your purpose is to complete a marathon by a certain date, you’ll see what that end go looks like even before you start. If you don’t have a clear goal with a purpose then you cannot put a clear plan in place to achieve it.

#2 : Stop saying, “I don’t have time.” - You always have time. “I don’t have time” has become a perfect excuse for people who don’t prioritise and complete things on their list. Learn how completing your goals can be made easy by actually adding fun to the process. If you want to change your image and become a better version of yourself then learn to manage your time better and make this whole process more fun to prioritise yourself. This way your results could be dramatically better and faster. Most people keep putting prioritising themselves to next day, next week or next month because they just don’t have enough time. Tell me, if you have to make time for someone else in that same day for your parents, friends or whoever you would make it happen but when it comes to yourself, you don’t do the same. Not prioritising yourself, taking yourself for granted is a sign of not showing respect to yourself. If you don’t show respect to yourself how do you expect others to do it.

#3 : Don’t let others set your goals - When you let others set your goals for you or modify them for you they can have several damaging effects on your ability to achieve them. First, it’s now no longer your goal so you have no sense of commitment to this new goal. Now these goals can seem harder to achieve than you believe is possible or you can commit to and when you lack belief this can cause you to quit at the first sign of difficulty. For instance,

You want to do yoga in a peaceful environment for your weight loss journey but your friends push you into joining a dance class. You’ll find it harder to stay committed to it now the same point applies to a lot of things in your life including your career choices. If you choose a career of your choice, you’ll find it far more easier to stay committed to it than if somebody else chooses it for you and this plays a very important factor in achieving your goals. If people want to be involved let them help you in defining how you should achieve your goal and support you and encourage you to stick to your goals but do not let them set new goals for you. Tell them to become your accountability partner with whom you can share your progress.

Don’t Beat Yourself up If You “Fall off the Wagon” a Few Times. It’s difficult to reach new goals. You’re asking yourself to stretch, to grow, to try new things. Of course, there will be times when you take a step back. Afternoons when you just want your favourite coffee and nothing else will do. But if you are kind to yourself and realize that no one is perfect, you are more likely to keep moving forward and ultimately get where you want to go.

Then celebrate when you do!

So, what will you decide to accomplish this year ?
