How to build a basic wardrobe from scratch.

There is a list of clothing and accessories that create a perfect foundation for every wardrobe and once you have the basics, you can build upon any wardrobe you want. Let me help you change your outlook towards so many things that are absolutely basic but can change your personality for better.

Welcome to - Live Bold And Bloom With Ishika.

So before we even talk about the key pieces that your basic wardrobe must have, there are a few points to keep in mind -

  • They should be accessible at your arms length. Literally the first that you can grab and wear.
  • Everything should match with everything effortlessly.
  • Everything in this basic wardrobe should be iron free, your basic outfits are the one that people see you in pretty much everyday. They have to be absolutely top-notch quality.

While trends come and go, there are few wardrobe essentials that’ll last a lifetime. It’s all about the basics.

  1. A perfect pair of jeans - Things to consider when you’re buying those perfect pair of jeans is STYLE. What style suits your body type just because something is in fashion does not mean it’ll suit you so, wear something that’s your body appropriate to stretch ability and comfort. My basic wardrobe usually has two kind of jeans - one is of course a well fitted high waist jeans and the second one  is boyfriend jeans. It looks great with flats, sneakers or high heels.

  2. A white T-shirt - I would actually not say just white T-shirt because everyone’s lifestyle is different, your cultural backgrounds are different so, let me say that anything white that’s comfortable and iron free should make it to your basic list. It could be a good white tunic, a T-shirt, a kurta or a tank top. Anything as long as it’s white it’s easy to co-ordinate it with anything.

  3. Monochromatic looks - Three or four monochromatic looks in your wardrobe are must haves. It could be a black on black, a white on white or a denim on denim. So, monochromatic always look great just by themselves but even if you throw just all these together and pick up anything and make any combination out of these, it will always work for you.

  4. Basic footwear  - A simple flat is a jack-of-all-trades shoe and lands the right look for anything from a board meeting to a grocery run and a classic pair of black pumps will never fail you or your outfits. They’re the perfect shoe option to wear for your 9-to-5, happy hour, or a weekend date night with jeans.

  5. Anything with stripes - Be it pants, shirt or T-shirt just have some striped on your clothes and you will always look trendy.

  6. A jacket - A great way to layer up these basics would be to have either a denim or a leather jacket. A quality jacket is one of the smartest investment pieces for your wardrobe.

  7. Structured T-shirt - Invest in a nice structured T-shirt by structured T-shirt I mean it’s not thin, it falls really well on your body and at the same time it’s not very thick or not very flimsy. It overall gives you a really nice structured finish.

  8. A Maxi dress - Make sure it is absolutely wrinkle free, knit material that falls really well and very comfortable. Make sure it looks great with anything in your feet be it sneakers, loafers, flip-flops or even wedges.

  9. A classic blazer - Structured outerwear is one thing you can always count on. The key is to look for a blazer that you can layer with any top, whether a concert tee or a blouse. Remember: it’s all about versatility, and investing in pieces that do it all.

  10. A little black dress - Last but certainly (never!) least, the iconic LBD. Date-night essential and the ultimate “I have nothing to wear” throw-on-and-go piece, a little black dress is a true must-have in every fashion girl’s wardrobe. Pair it with a leather jacket and you’re good to go.

So, there you have it a “no brainer” wardrobe that can fit into pretty much anyone’s lifestyle. Comment down your wardrobe essentials that make you feel and look more powerful? POWERFUL BODY LANGUAGE TIPS : PART - 2

In the previous blog, we learnt about body language tips and habits of extremely confident individuals. In the second part, We’ll go over your stance and posture .    • STANCE AND POSTURE- Start with your feet shoulders width apart, and    your toes pointing outwards. This is considered open body language. If your legs are crossed or you have one leg behind the other - this type of body language is called closed body language and is associated with fear, anxiety, defence and lack of confidence - traits that are not so attractive. On the other hand, open body language is associated with power and confidence, so feet and shoulder width apart and toes pointing outwards. Bonus tips for your feet and legs is to take big steps. Shuffling and creeping makes you look nervous. Take firm strides.  • ARMS: Don’t cross your arms. When we’re nervous, we tend to put our hands in our pockets, behind our backs or cross them to cover up our chest, and that can be seen as shy, in...

CONFIDENCE IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.

Love yourself instead of loving the idea of other people loving you. I know what you’re thinking….easier said than done, right? Nobody is born with high or low self-confidence. Confidence is a feeling that people develop and work on over time. For most people, confidence is something that comes and goes. Confidence isn’t walking into a room thinking that you’re better than anyone. It’s walking in knowing that you don’t have to compare yourself to anyone. Comparing yourself to another person that isn’t even in your system there’s no thought of comparison. There is no competition with any other human. You are not above anyone, you are not below anyone. That’s confidence! Self confidence is a super power. Once you start to believe in yourself, magic starts happening. And I’m sure you all have experienced this in one time or another where you have really felt self confidence in yourself. When you see a negative feedback coming your way that is criticism you try to become a little defensive...
